   Since several days my account is activated after a short “Live Chat” with their support. I asked them why my account was suspended they answered that directories (competitors) are against their rules and conditions. After checking the whole website I didn’t found any information about this rule

   Just an update!

   after using my paid account at linkmarket for several weeks, there is the next problem:

   They removed my link from the directory (of course without a warning). This way it’s over with the link trade requests from other members.
   Send again an e-mail to the support and maybe they will surprise me

   It looks like that the best time is over for this kind of link exchange programs. Most of them are full of “spammy” websites (made for adsense…).

   The last 6 month I got around 100 link exchange requests with the result of 5 link trades… thats to much work for this result I think.

   Yes it’s right this link you have provided is valid and is working if the user is NOT logged in.

   Since each member need to be logged, to use your application it is not possible that people can start link trades with this website.

   …will say there is at least a bug in your system and don’t forget that I paid for your service!

   If you have link permissions set your link will be available only to the sites that belong to the selected categories.

   …yes, there are some permissions set…

   I remember that I set much more categories but most of them are gone ???

   At the end don’t forget you need several month to answer the tickets from your paying customers!

   My other ticket about to move my directory into the right category is still unanswered…

    Ok, he fixed all the problems and moved also my listing into the right category.

    After more then 2 month it’s possible to work with my account as before. I think it’s Ok to join their program but I’m sure it’s not worth to upgrade to the premium service for money…

    The biggest problem for all link exchange programs is that the quality of most submissions is not that what you need for successful link building… but thats another story

    We have many link exchange scam, specially because we offer link exchange solutions, and you have to be very carefull where you put your links. I would advise doing the following before joining a link exchange program:

    - Do they offer a try out or a free link? you should be able to at least be able to try out the service.
    - do a ste: command in google to see who is backlinking to them. That will give you an idea of the sites you will be included into.
    - make sure the reciprocal link code only shows text links and no javascript or other spam.
    - Try to use a service that allows multiple rotatory keywords. SEs are penalizing for the so called Google Bombs effect so be careful.

    Thanks for the advice torero!

    My advice is don’t use them, you won’t link with the listed websites there…

    I used this provider before (the free version), 2 years before it was much better!

    It appears I have been banned by the administrator for submitting sites into the site: http://www.1linkdirectory.com/

    I don’t understand why this has happened as the sites I have submitted are quality websites and I make sure that I find the best category possible to submit the sites too.

    If you could unban me I would appreciate it. I would aalso like to hear the administrator’s side of the story of why this occurred so I can prevent this happening in the future,

    Hello Ben,

    I sold the directory a few weeks before. I know that the new owner changed the type of directory from free to paid submissions.

    If you like to know why your links are not approved, answer the mail you got from the new directory admin.

    I had a terrible experience with LinkMarket.com, wish I had never heard of them. About a year ago I signed up for 1 year with them, and it did not take long before I realizes it was a waste of money. They were sending me useless links, had absolutely nothing in common with my website. So I told them to cancel my account, that I wanted nothing more to do with them. Thought that was the end of it. Last Tuesday I receive an email from them telling me they are going to bill me another $25, so I tell them like hell you are, my account should have been canceled, don’t you dare charge me any more money ! Guess what ? They charged my credit card another $25 on Thursday ! 2 days after I tell them not to. I am not the only one to get scammed by them. M.Mc

    tell your CC company to cancel that payment and never use this kind of services again (they are outaged and useless)
