A few days before I noticed this news in a thread at the webdigity forum, the formerly online spreadsheet tool gets a brother a word processor.

Some people would ask why this, there are so many (MS Word, OpenOffice)?

Both programs Google Docs and Spreadsheats doesn’t have all the features from OpenOffice or MS office, but they have some nice online features which are not available in this big desktop applications.

Online sharing
It’s possible documents and spreadsheets with other users for reading and writing. Invite single users or large groups to read you information with the only requirement a web browser.

Publish to blog or internet
Publish your Google Doc to the internet or blog site, just use the online editor with all the features inclusive spell check to write your story and post it to your blog site (Wordpress and other types).

More options
I think the most important features are the import and export functions, this way its possible to import existing word documents or excel spreadsheets and share them on the internet. For the Google Docs is also a PDF export function (not included in MS Word).
