Today I noticed a new feature on the Google homepage: Extra tabs to get new space for more Google gadgets, modules or RSS feeds. Maybe is this not the biggest invention but it will speed up your default page if you group frequently used modules or gadgets on a second tab. Maybe you like to add one of my own Google Modules; the RSS feed of this Blog or the some PHP script release information.

One of the first Gadgets at almost every personalized Google homepage was the the small personal bookmark list. For several users of this personal start page is the Google History also a useful tool to find website and SERP’s from the last days.
A few days ago I noticed that after the link “Bookmarks” on this start page is a interesting combination of both services:

  • A bookmark list with labels to group your bookmarks
  • the search history with new and optimized features
  • some statistics about your past searches

Most of this features looks not very special but the combination works very good and give some useful features (give it a try). Of course there are so much social link communities, but non of them is so fast as Google Bookmarks. The bad point is that until now you can’t share your bookmarks, but I think thats only a matter of time…
